1. SAYFA Mission: SAYFA is dedicated to provide a structured environment for youth recreation, instilling good sportsmanship, teaching the value of being part of a team and educating players on the basic fundamental skills and rules of full contact football. 2. History SAYFA : SAYFA is starting its 9th year this fall. 3. What is SAYFA all about? We offer full contact football to boys & girls grades 3 - 6. All the equipment and padding is issued to the participant at the beginning of the season. We separate the grades as follows: Junior Varsity 3 & 4 graders: We basically teach the game and fundamentals of football. We will use a smaller ball. Games are more controlled. Varsity 5 & 6 graders: Still work on teaching the game and fundamentals. The games are played under normal football regulations. Youth size football is used. 4. The Season: We will be starting the season on July 31st with equipment checkout for the 6th graders only. Equipment checkout for the rest of the league will be on Aug. 12th.. Practice will start the following Monday Aug 4th for 6th graders and on the 18th for everyone else. The first week of practice will be conducting conditioning drills along with teaching some basic football skills. At this time we will be evaluating all players on their skill level, knowledge of game and aggressiveness. We will be using these evaluations to divide the players evenly for teams. The second week we still do conditioning drills but we break down into your teams. We start the season on Wed. Sept 3rd with the Kickoff Classic. The first seasonal game will be on Saturday 6th. with the remaining practice scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings. All games will be played on Saturday mornings. 5. Games: JV GAMES: 11 man football. 4 - 15min. quarters. No score kept. No kickoffs ball placed on 20yd line. Punting but no punts advanced. Coaches on field. Live games with Referees. Varsity Games: 11 man football. 4 - 15min. quarters. Scores will be kept. Live kickoffs & punts. 1 Coach on field. Live games with Referees. 6. Registration Fees: Registration FEE is only $75.00 with each additional family member only $50.00 We will be playing 2 Varsity games against Sauk Rapids this year.
